How to crop your video file using Windows Movie Maker
Start by opening Windows Movie Maker. Click on the Start button > All Programs > Accessories > Windows Movie Maker.
Now that you have Move Maker open, your screen should look something like this.

Ok, the next step is to get your video file into the movie editor so you can work on it. There are a few ways to do this. You can either drag the video clip into the Movie Maker by clicking on it and dragging it into the program itself or into it’s icon on the toolbar. Alternatively, you can click on "Import Video" under the "Capture Video" section on the left hand toolbar and browse to your file. The picture below illustrates that last option explained.

Your next step is to click on the video and drag it down into the timeline at the bottom of the moviemaker.

Here is where you start doing your cropping. You can trim time off the beginning or end of the timeline by clicking at either the very start or end of the timeline and dragging toward the center of the timeline. It should look something like this.
Trimming off the front of the video.

Trimming off the end of the video.

Now that you have trimmed your file to the correct length, it is time to save your file. Do this by click "Save to my computer" under "Finish Movie" on the left hand toolbar within moviemaker.

Here are the next two screens that you will see after clicking on "Finish Movie". I always leave the settings at the default settings (what they are already set at).

Great job! Your last step is to go to www.gifninja.com and create your animated video gif.
